Brockway Mountain. Near Copper Harbor, MI. |
As I am sitting here trying not to scratch the dozens of battle wounds from my fight against the mosquitos, I am utterly happy.
What? Well, mosquitos mean summer.
And I have had a fantastic taste of summer in the last few days.
And by fantastic, I mean fantastic!
Me encanta el calor. Degrees reaching almost 90, sunshine to shade myself from, and sunsets at 9:30 PM. Michigan never fails to live up to the phrase that says, "Don't like the weather? Wait 5 minutes, it will change." Today seems to be the perfect day for Potato Broccoli Chesse Soup at about 59 degrees with a crisp breeze. I feel like I had a weekend of summer and now it's time for Autumn. Summer, I love you, and I promise I'm not betraying you. But I am very much so looking forward to Autumn. I'll just stop there though.
Daniel's parents are up for a lovely visit to the Copper Country. So far we've enjoyed closed restaurants on a late Wednesday night, too many jokes and laughs to count, Summer Grilled Chicken and Burgers, a vibrantly orange sunset at McLain State Park, rock skipping, some grocery shopping at the local hang out spot - Walmart, The Covered Drive on 41, Copper Harbor, The Start of US 41, Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, Lake Superior's rocky shores, Brockway's lusciously green vistas, The Monk's Cookies, Many pictures taken by los americanos, melting ice cream, late evening Spanish conversations, and we still have a few more blessed days with them as our guests. Even though during the week it's business as usual, I feel like I have been on vacation myself.
I am thankful and so blessed.
Life is good.
God is good.
The end.
Amen and Amen!! Doesn't it sometimes just seem like "it just can't get any better?!?!?!"
