Vintage Button Necklace DIY

My little creative person has been screaming for some attention lately.

So I decided to scope out my Crafts Board on Pintrest and look for anything
that would satisfy my creative itch.

I found This Pin and decided to try it out.
If you want to try it out yourself, you may find the tutorial through the link.

However, I didn't follow that tutorial, I simply went from the picture.
So here's what I did:
  1. I laid out the buttons I wanted in the arrangement I wanted. (as seen in the picture above)
  2. I then transferred the design onto the background fabric, which for me was denim.
  3. I fired up the hot glue gun and put each button into place. (My design changed slightly as I put them together permanently.)
  4. I then cut out the buttons from the extra fabric.
  5. Using needle and thread, I sewed the chain onto the background fabric of the necklace.
My necklace turned out like this, and it's kinda fun. I think I like it.

But I didn't stop there.
I made this necklace from old earrings and extra chain.

Then I decided that three is a charm and I made another one.

Even though the second two were afterthoughts, I like the second necklace I made the most. I see myself wearing this one a lot.

All in all, it was a good night and my little creative person is satisfied, for now.

She Wore : Navy & Peach

Peach Sweater : Salvation Army $ 3| Navy Silk Oversized Tee: Thrifted ~$2| Skinnies: Walmart $7| Like-New Keds: Goodwill $4| Scarf: Family Dollar $6| Coral Necklace: Goodwill $3| Coral&Gold Earrings: Goodwill $3| Sweet Shades: Gift from my seester

Welcome to my comfort zone. Scarves, sneakers, over sized tops and skinnies. Not to mention sunglasses that cover half of my face.
Coral in my ears, necklace and shoes. Navy in my jeans tee and scarf. Peach in my sweater.
I like matchy-matchy. Even though they say it's not good. Like a matching dining set. I like it. Call me crazy I guess.
But of course there's a balance to everything and I like variety.
The end.

Seeping Trends

 Highlighter&Mint

When I say seeping trends, I really mean just seeping.
This outfit has the teeniest amount of neon and pastel mixed in.
If you notice, the blouse has a neon green-ish color in the floral pattern.
And the necklace has pastel wooden beads that play out of the same color family.
Personal Style is taking or leaving what you choose from the passing trends.
You may add to your style a pinch of a new trend if it strikes your fancy,
and you may ignore a trend if you don't like it.
Ah the beauty of choice.

One Blouse: Two Ways

Thrifted Treasure

I found a vintage blouse at Salvation Army that I just adored.

It's a really lightweight material with some fancy details, so it can be work or casual.
Oh how I enjoy getting so much use out of $2.
That's my kind of shopping.

The end.

A Day In The Office

I have this thing that on Thursdays I like to wear a skirt or dress.
Even in the cold weather.
Here I stayed warm and cozy while sporting one of my summer dresses as a skirt.
Lately I've enjoyed wearing a shirt cropped up to make a high waist skirt.
Throw on a scarf because that almost always guarantees warmth.
The end.

Hike to the Falls

Mom, Daniel, Lilly & I went for a little jaunt over to the Hungarian Falls when she came to visit.
Still a bit chilly since it was in February. But there was no snow which was nice. Last year in February we came here for the first time, but there was too much snow to really explore.

Talk about an easy winter this year.

The falls are very beautiful. There are about four nice ones along this river. Two of them you can get right down in the falls. The views are very pretty.

Living in the UP does have some benefits. Such as driving for 10 minutes and being in such a place as this. There are places like this all over. You just have to get out and explore.

The UP is like a well kept secret. Before moving here I had no idea of how cool it really is.
And now I know and I feel privileged.

The end.
