Lately

So lately I have been playing with some fun picture apps on my fancy smartypants phone.

I am going to share with you how I got the above picture to look this way without leaving the comfort of my couch and hot cocoa.

I actually used a couple few apps to make this magic happen.
First, I used an app called Snapseed to get the vintage drama effect.

Then, I edited the picture with an app called PS Express. I used the 'reduce noise' option because the picture was very pixel-y thanks to the mirror camera on the iPhone.
Next I used an app called Rhonna Design to put the words and details on the picture.
It's actually quite user friendly and quick. You can create a hipster masterpiece in the matter of a minute and some quick thumb maneuvering.

I just found this app today and I was so excited about it I wanted to share it.

All of the apps are free (of course, that's my style). However, in the PS Express app you have to purchase the Reduce Noise option. Kinda ridiculous, but it makes me happy with my pictures so I think it was worth it.

P.S. Another thing that is really exciting is that Jesus loves you!
(Just thought you would like to know.)

So anyways, those are some fun photo editing apps if you have the itch to spruce up your pics.

Enjoy!

Vintage Button Necklace DIY

My little creative person has been screaming for some attention lately.

So I decided to scope out my Crafts Board on Pintrest and look for anything
that would satisfy my creative itch.

I found This Pin and decided to try it out.
If you want to try it out yourself, you may find the tutorial through the link.

However, I didn't follow that tutorial, I simply went from the picture.
So here's what I did:
  1. I laid out the buttons I wanted in the arrangement I wanted. (as seen in the picture above)
  2. I then transferred the design onto the background fabric, which for me was denim.
  3. I fired up the hot glue gun and put each button into place. (My design changed slightly as I put them together permanently.)
  4. I then cut out the buttons from the extra fabric.
  5. Using needle and thread, I sewed the chain onto the background fabric of the necklace.
My necklace turned out like this, and it's kinda fun. I think I like it.

But I didn't stop there.
I made this necklace from old earrings and extra chain.

Then I decided that three is a charm and I made another one.

Even though the second two were afterthoughts, I like the second necklace I made the most. I see myself wearing this one a lot.

All in all, it was a good night and my little creative person is satisfied, for now.

One Blouse: Two Ways

Thrifted Treasure

I found a vintage blouse at Salvation Army that I just adored.

It's a really lightweight material with some fancy details, so it can be work or casual.
Oh how I enjoy getting so much use out of $2.
That's my kind of shopping.

The end.

Tea Party

Mother and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this unique tea room.
There was so much history and antique charm to this place. I know that I will visit it again.
The dessert was amazing! And the tea selection is amazing. I had no idea there were so many tea options. Black, green, white. And then some!
This is a place you come to really spend some time.

The end.
