Thank You, Jesus!

Mommy!

Even though my opinion is of course prejudice, I have the best mom in the world!
She drove way too many hours to come and visit me for a long weekend and help me with house projects that procrastination has been getting the best of.
Thanks to this amazing woman my house now has a fantastic pantry!
Not only that, while she was in between cutting boards, measuring, coating, and drilling, she helped me paint the front porch.
Thank you Jesus for blessing me with this wonderful woman as a mother!
I am so thankful.

 I love you, Mom!

Steady My Heart

Steady My Heart by Kari Jobe.

Even when it hurts
Even when it's hard
Even when it all just falls apart
I will run to You
cuz' I know that You are
Lover of my soul
Healer of my scars

Not only is she lovely, she loves Jesus and serves Him.
Such an inspiration.
She also has such an adorable style.

daily newness

If you have visited this blog more than once you might have noticed the different look.
Like any normal woman, I don't always know what I want.
Things might change for a while until I find what I'm looking for.
Since I don't know what I'm looking for it might be a little bit.
Hang in there!

P.S. I'm dreaming of summer!

DIY Menu Board

Ugh, Dinner....

The biggest reason I'm not a fan of cooking is the stress and mental chaos that happens when you get home from work and you have to decide what to make.
This menu board helps me avoid that and makes cooking a much more
pleasant experience.

Is there anything I need to explain better?
Please let me know if this does or doesn't make sense.

Thank you!

Winter Fades Away

Happy Spring!

{Headband: Family Dollar}{Earrings: Thrifted}{Tank: Gift}{Jacket: Wallmart}
{Belt: Thrifted}{Skirt: Me-Made}{Tights: Wallmart}{Shoes: Payless}

So as you can see I'm a bit of a dork. What can I say? It's fun.
This silky skirt was made from an old wrap I received as a gift. I never used it because I find it hard to use a wrap other than a table cloth. So I sewed it, put some elastic in there, and now it's a pretty skirt. So thank you, Emily for the pretty wrap from Africa that is now a pretty skirt.
The end.
Quick Question:
Do you want to know how I made the skirt?

Sun(ny)day

Experiencing June in March is quite the thrill. Taking my dog out for a walk and thinking that I'm warm is simply amazing. I am almost expecting to wake up.

My favorite part of this outfit is the jewelry.
My necklace was a splurge and my first long charm necklace when the trend started to take off. And by splurge I mean between $5-$10.
The earrings make me so happy because they are leaf studs that I have been searching for since I bought the necklace. Just recently I found them while thrifting, $2.
I had to do some editing to them. But I simply took off the bottoms, which were a larger leaf that dangled, to get them where I wanted them to be.
Those are now different earrings which you will see later.
Thanks for looking and I sure hope that you have enjoyed some sunshine recently.

Trash to Treasure

We all collect them, just like those silly plastic bags. Try this on for size. This has changed my jewelry life considerably and I just wanted to share the idea so it could possibly enhance your life too. Do you have any drawers that need organizing? Have you discovered any other fantastic uses for old egg cartons?

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition -
jux·ta·po·si·tion
noun
an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, especially for comparison or contrast.

There is something beautiful to me about juxtaposition.  Not only in art, or photography, but in many aspects of life. For example, two people that don't seem to fit together that make a beautiful combination. Or clothes that surprise you when they are paired. Or even something as simple as a flower planted in a cinder block.
This kind of beauty draws me in and keeps me at a loss for words. This fascination allows me to find joy in unusual and simple places and it keeps my days lovely.
The pictures shown are very different from each other. But both are beautiful (to these beholding eyes). Not only are they different from each other, but they host juxtaposition even within their frames.
I know this is cheesy, but really, take just a minute each day to appreciate the beauty of something or someone. You might just notice your days being a little brighter.
