Danger: Out of Chocolate

This is a legitimate warning in my house.

My mom is much more exiting than I am. Love her.

She's so cute!

This beautiful sign. *sigh*
As I prepare to travel and visit my parents, these pictures make it even more exiting to go home. I look forward to spending time with my mom and dad. They are both so special to me. Wonderful people and friends. I could not have better parents. And I think all my siblings would agree. Love them! I am thankful for each time I get to spend with them.
Thank you, Jesus for such a wonderful family.
I just hope to give my kids the same.

Sometimes, you just need simple

No, really. I needed an outfit that was simple enough to babysit in. And I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever babysat. Poor little kid. Good thing he was asleep most of the time. Well, we both survived and it was a great experience.

Only fueling the baby bug flame.

Thanks for being a part of my first time babysitting experience.... at the age of 24.  *chuckle*

Unusual Organizing

Bouquet of Headbands

Pots of Bracelets

Vase of Sunglasses

I really enjoy organizing. Recently I decided to just change things. Not because there was something wrong with the way it was, just because I wanted it to be new and different.

Ya know what I mean?

My headband collection is growing considerably. I've decided they are one of my favorite accessories. Especially with my short hair. This is my favorite way to store them, because:
 1. they are pretty
2. it's very easy to see them all
3. they are easily accessible
&
4. they are easy to put away and keep organized.

This was my favorite discovery during my re-organizing mission. This is actually an old coffee pot that was left in our house when we bought it.
I have no idea how old it is, but I know these haven't been used for a long time.
Vintage storage. I like it.
Plus, I haven't found a happy way, until now, to store and see my bracelets. As you can see I have plenty, and when I can't see them or get to them, I don't wear them. I really don't like wasted things or space, so this is an effort to wear out all my bracelets. I would have never stored my bracelets in and old coffee pot, but the strange idea hit me and now it's my favorite, like I mentioned just a bit ago. I think that is why I like it so much, because bracelets and coffee pots just don't seem to go together in my head, but when paired, it's a pleasant surprise.

I am also exited about this discovery. My wonderful sister, Angi, just sent me 3 pair of new sunglasses. Now I know they will be used, and I get to look at their pretty frames whenever I am in my closet.
I think it is the coolest thing when a decoration is functional and useful.
Or, put in other terms: When things we need to use everyday are displayed or arranged pretty enough to be a decoration too.

I hope this inspired you to get organizing with some unusual things in some unusual ways.
Happy Spring cleaning!

The end.

Constant Communication

"Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

Philippians 4:6

I've been called optimistic by many people. But I've always had a thing about preparing for the worst. That way I am never disappointed, right?
Well....
That mentality, from middle school, has encouraged my development of stress, anxiety, fear, and worry. Not to extreme levels by any means. But enough to keep me distracted. I am sure almost all of us have dealt with these at some point. That's okay, that's normal. It's just what we do with it......

Jesus came to save us and set us free. Even though this culture doesn't make room for the thought of living a stress free life, Jesus' culture is all about freedom. Anyone can have it too, even me.

This is an excerpt from a devotional I read.
It helped me feel a relief and freedom from this whole stuck in stress mentality.
I look forward to the day where I realize the freedom in Jesus Christ that I have.
& I'm learning little bits every day

"..the Scripture uses the extremes of "anything and "everything" to express how completely our lives should be bathed in prayer. The practice of communicating with God freely and continually throughout the day can encompass any issue of concern to you. We are invited by God to lay out our personal requests before Him..."

"Knowing that God is powerful and loving, a wise man and woman turn all their worries into prayers."

Shout out: Best Sister in the World.

This is a shout out to my little sister, Angi.

She is an amazing person. So giving and pleasant to be around. Absolutely gorgeous inside & out and I am so glad to have her as my sister. Always there to give me advice & her opinion is very important to me because I really look up to her. (haha, no pun intended).  Always so supportive and encouraging, making me feel way cooler than I really am.

I could never really express how precious this wonderful person is to me.

Angi, you are awesome and I love you muchisimo.

She agrees to be my manikin for picture projects.
She's so stylish.

She takes silly pictures with me even when she's not a big fan of chocolate.
She introduced me to the Chicago Deep Dish.

She takes after her mom. What's not to love about that?

She's beautiful from all angles.
We grew up together and therefore can be as goofy as we want.
She shares my enthusiasm for head massages. These things are amazing!

Angi you are awesome! I am so thankful to hear of the awesome things happening in your life and to hear about how God is blessing you.

Thank you, Jesus for such a great sister!

She wore a purple jacket

Purple Jacket was a steal from Wally world for about $3
Maxi Skirt was found at Keweenaw Consignment for less than $5

This location is called the Dry House Ruins. I drive by here every day to and from work.
Bracelets are both compliments of Premier Designs Jewelry.

Earrings were a lovely Goodwill find. $3

Headband was found at Family Dollar for $2.

Colorful shirt is a sale item from Old Navy. Less than $10.

Sunglasses were also found at Goodwill for a cool $2

This sign is lovely. I get to admire it every day to and from work.

Sunshine makes the heart happy

Here I stand in an old basement of a motel that burned down years ago. A little creepy, but it is probably my new favorite outfit spot.

I have to be honest, I like the fact that this angle makes me look taller.

Thanks for sharing this adventure of ruins, new outfits, basements, and sunshine. I hope you can get out and explore. Maybe you will find some beautiful places along your daily commute too. .

New Arrivals

Yay! I am so happy that my order came!

The pearl bracelets and the ring was purchased, and the teal wrist band was free.

Yay for free stuff!

The ring is huge! And amazing! I feel fabulous when I wear it.

It reminded me of why I used to own about 50 crazy rings. I hope it can take a beating, because I plan on wearing it often.

If you really like this stuff, you can check out the store by clicking here.
