Surely Pleated

Let me introduce you to a new addition to my wardrobe.
I am not going to act like I don't like it when my skirt blows in the wind. Having a shear pleated skirt is just fun. This skirt is so light weight, but it's a midi length so it can be worn on super warm days or chilly days.
Of course it was thrifted. I found it at Salvation Army and paid about $3 for it. It was a test to figure out what to do under it though. Because it is SHEAR! So, I sewed in a slip that has gorgeous lace trim at the bottom that is the same length. I prefer it when the bottom layer shows, because it's so pretty with the pleats.
Confident, comfy, cute. Not a bad day.

She Wore : Navy & Peach

Peach Sweater : Salvation Army $ 3| Navy Silk Oversized Tee: Thrifted ~$2| Skinnies: Walmart $7| Like-New Keds: Goodwill $4| Scarf: Family Dollar $6| Coral Necklace: Goodwill $3| Coral&Gold Earrings: Goodwill $3| Sweet Shades: Gift from my seester

Welcome to my comfort zone. Scarves, sneakers, over sized tops and skinnies. Not to mention sunglasses that cover half of my face.
Coral in my ears, necklace and shoes. Navy in my jeans tee and scarf. Peach in my sweater.
I like matchy-matchy. Even though they say it's not good. Like a matching dining set. I like it. Call me crazy I guess.
But of course there's a balance to everything and I like variety.

Seeping Trends

 Highlighter&Mint

When I say seeping trends, I really mean just seeping.
This outfit has the teeniest amount of neon and pastel mixed in.
If you notice, the blouse has a neon green-ish color in the floral pattern.
And the necklace has pastel wooden beads that play out of the same color family.
Personal Style is taking or leaving what you choose from the passing trends.
You may add to your style a pinch of a new trend if it strikes your fancy,
and you may ignore a trend if you don't like it.
Ah the beauty of choice.

One Blouse: Two Ways

Thrifted Treasure

I found a vintage blouse at Salvation Army that I just adored.

It's a really lightweight material with some fancy details, so it can be work or casual.
Oh how I enjoy getting so much use out of $2.
That's my kind of shopping.

Shout Out: BFF

Meet Emily

Our friendship began in 5th grade when she passed me a note in class.
We have grown up together, went through ugly awkward times in middle school,
went through terrible boyfriends and terrible clothes together.
Always real and truly beautiful.
She has always been a good encouragement and inspiration in my relationship with Jesus.
We've also been through good decision, good grades, and a good college together.
It's been hard these past few years. We saw each other almost every day growing up.
Then we went out into the big world. We moved to other sides of the country.
I've missed her very much.
I like to think of myself as a real person, but you know how there are those few special people you can truly be yourself with, no inhibitions and no judgements.
She has seen every side of me, and I really miss having my friend to be myself with.
I'm not saying I don't have that at home, because I have it more there than anywhere else,
but I mean girl time.
Not only being yourself, but she's someone who enhances yourself.
I could go on and on.
But oh goodness look at the time.
Emily, I miss you.
I Love you dear Best Friend Forever.

A Day In The Office

I have this thing that on Thursdays I like to wear a skirt or dress.
Even in the cold weather.
Here I stayed warm and cozy while sporting one of my summer dresses as a skirt.
Lately I've enjoyed wearing a shirt cropped up to make a high waist skirt.
Throw on a scarf because that almost always guarantees warmth.

Happy Birthday Evan!

Today is my big brother Evan's birthday.

He is an amazing brother and I love him.

Not only is he super cool,

but he is serving our country.

So proud of you, Evan.

Happy Birthday!

Michigan House

Michigan House Cafe & Brewpub
The Keweenaw is just crawling with history. This place is no exception.
You have no idea how cool this place is. The only reason is because I was too busy eating the delicious food to take more pictures. And it was full so I felt silly taking a bunch of pictures. Next time I go and if there aren't too many people there, I will take more pictures for you so you can see just how cool this place is.
I don't know much about beer, mostly because I haven't got the taste for it. But the Mister likes their brews.
Michigan House Cafe & Brewpub Calumet, MI.
Look it up. It's cool. And it's really close to my house. Thumbs Up.
